The Disporportinate Assets case against Mayatwati was quashed today by the Supreme Court. The SC said that in 2003 it only asked the CBI to look into the Taj Corridor case and that they did not ask the CBI to probe any disproportinate assets of Mayawati. It said the its direction was to strictly look into the Rs 17 crore meant for teh Taj Corridor and how it was spent.

This is a major victory for Mayawati. Behenji’s opponents have for sometime now solely focussing on here alleged accumilation of wealth over time. Now Mayawati is sure to go forward with greater confidence levels and we will how to see how she will impact National politics soon. Her party has already declared that “opponents will put obstacles but Behenji will continue to work for the people”.
