In a surprising development, Congress President Sonia Gandhi met senior congress leaders at her residence late last night to address the Telangana issue.Sonia’s political adviser Ahmed Patel, In-charge of State Affairs(AP) Ghulam Nabi Azad, Home minister Sushil Kumar Shinde, Finance minister P.Chidambaram and party senior leader Vayalar Ravi attended the meeting.

Ghulam Nabi Azad, who met several party-men from the state in his tour to Hyderabad had put forward the details of  the same. Others expressed their opinion on the T-issue. Vayalar Ravi, who had met KCR several times earlier in the week also put the details of the meeting before the committee. The committee decided to meet after The defence minister AK Antony, who is in Maldives would return on the 22nd and the Prime minister also would attend the meeting. While a senior leader who attended the meeting said that no decision was taken on the formation of statehood, another said that consultations are going on with the UPA allies and the issue will be resolved by the month end.

The government seems to be on a spree of resolving issues. After the introduction of new set of economic reforms, it is all set to address the Telangana issue and find an amicable solution as soon as possible so that the political unrest in the state can be put to an end.
