The CBI today filed a new chargesheet in the Jagan case, specifically listing irregularities in the Vanpic deal. In a shocker, Minister Dharmanna Prasad Rao is named as A5 in the chargesheet. Dharmanna was the revenue minister when the Vanpic deal went through. IAS officers Manmohan Singh, Samuel and IRS officer Bhramanand Reddy have also been named in the charge sheet. Jagan Mohan Reddy is again A1 in the case. 14 people were named in the case along with Vijay Sai Reddy, Nimagadda Prasad and Mopidevi Venkatramana. Carmel Asia, Silicon Builders have also been named in the case.

There is strong speculation that now Dharmanna will also be arrested like his cabinet collegaue Mopidevi Venkatramana. There were always 6 ministers whose names featured in the Jagan case but no one expected the axe would fall on Dharmanna so soon. The party seems to have gone into shock and this issue is certain to rock the state cabinet soon.

Just like Mopidevi, Minster Dharmanna is now arguing that there were no personal decisions by him in the case and that everything was a collective decision of the Cabinet. However this argument did not work for Mopidevi and might not for Dharmanna as well. The opposition has already begun demanding that the Accused minster be removed from the cabinet immediately.
