The Government’s plan to create a sub-quoata for muslims in government funded educational institutions once again lies tangled in a judicial mess. The Supreme Court today refused to stay a previous order by the Andhra Pradesh High Court that the quota was not legally valid.
While the Court did admit the Government’s plea challenging the AP High Court order, the case is set to take its own time and this means admissions in government instutions this year will have to proceede without the 4.5% minority quota.
Notices were issued by the court to the those who had challenged providing the 4.5% quota.
