Senior IPS Officer B.Prasada Rao, presently heading the ACB, is known as one of the toughest and committed officers of the department. But remotely does anyone know him as a science researcher. He has been conducting several experiments pertaining to light propagation and has now made some phenomenal discoveries. He has proved the newton’s particle theory of light right. For several years, scientists from many parts of the world are trying to contradict newtons theory and were not successful. Neither were people trying to prove him right were successful. But, Mr. Rao who has been working on this project for the past 13 years in his own laboratory has now successfully proved that it is particle theory not wave theory which is to be accepted. He also commented on topics like interference and diffraction, and said that the particle theory is applicable to both these concepts. The details of his thesis were published in the latest magazine of the Indian science congress and also by an Italy science magazine. JNTU-KKD Vice-chancellor Tulasiramdas appreciated Mr.Rao for his work and appointed him as a visiting faculty to the university.
