CM Kiran Kumar Reddy has been snubbed again by the Congress High Command. After the Chief Minister asked for a postponement of the meet due to the scheduled World Telugu Conference in Tirupati, the Home Minister has responded today saying there would be no postponement and the meet would only be postponed if all parties made a similar request.
The Congress Telangana leaders too did not take kindly to the CM’s request. Congress leaders V.Hanumantha Rao asked that the Telugu Conference itself be postponed while MP Vivek said the CM need not attend the meeting. The stated reason for Kiran Kumar Reddy asking for the postponement was that he could not attend the meeting. Rayapati Sambasivarao, another Congress MP from the Seemandhra region stated that the meeting could only be held around the Sankranti festival in January.
In another interesting statement on the meet, BJP leader Kishan Reddy asked Congress to ensure that Sonia Gandhi would represent the party in the meet. He said he could promise that the BJP President Nitin Gadkari would come for the meeting if Sonia turned up.
Today, the Telangana Congress MPs also asked that the Home Minister ask that each party send only one representative to the meeting.
